Storyboarding
The storyboard process is where the script is brought to life. This is one of the most important processes as it sets the tone and pace of the show.

The animation director, with a group of storyboard artists, will go through the script and plan how certain scenes will look and solve any problems that may arise.

Each panel is a series of shots explaining the action taking place - where the character will be, what they are saying, what they are doing, camera moves and so on. The storyboard is the 'bible' which all departments follow and refer to throughout the animation process. The storyboard is then filmed and synched up with the audio for the episode - this is called an animatic.
