Top Dogs Oscar!
We are delighted to announce that bro’Town’s very own Oscar Kightley was a recipient of a 2008 Sir Peter Blake Emerging Leader Award!

The awards, which are administered by the Sir Peter Blake Trust, are presented annually to six people recognised as younger leaders of considerable potential.

The ceremony was held at Parliament last weekend, with the awards presented by bro’Town’s close and personal friend His Excellency, Honourable Anand Satyanand, Governor General
of New Zealand and Lady Pippa Blake.

From humble beginnings, Oscar has emerged as a leader and role model to many in the Pacific Island community. He has never lost sight of what he regards as his obligation to lead and inspire others.

“It was a massive honour particularly because the award celebrates the memory of a great New Zealander in Sir Peter Blake and what an inspirational leader he was,” said Oscar Kightley.

“And also because the people on the Trust are great too, people like Sir John Graham, Fran Wilde and Sir Wilson Whineray."

The 2008 Blake Medalist was Sir Murray Halberg.

The other 2008 Emerging Leader Awardees were Keriana Brooking, Rebecca Caughey, Julie Helson, Michael Sabin and Sarah Ulmer.
