bro'Town at Te Papa!

Three bro’Town characters have been immortalized in New Zealand’s National Museum!

Last week bro’Towners Oscar Kightley, Shimpal Lelisi and designer Ant Sang attended the opening of the bro’Town Laughter Lines installation at Te Papa Museum. Laughter Lines is an interactive drawing installation targeted at 7-12 year olds which give kids the opportunity to practise their own drawing skills by animating the faces of characters Vale, Mack and Mulan against a huge Morningside Map backdrop.

The event was well attended with kids and adults thrilled to have the opportunity to learn more about the show’s creation from The bro’Town team who were also guest judges in an animated character competition, and the first official
Laughter Lines draw-off!

Shaun Drummond, Te Papa’s Pasifika Team Manager said he was thrilled to have bro’Town on board and to have multi cultural New Zealand and pasifika representation in a mainstream centre of the museum, rather than hidden in its corners!

The bro’Town installation will be in place at Te Papa for at least a decade, and takes from iconic kiwi animation
‘Footrot Flats’.
